Barlow, How Offside Started..

I’ve been fortunate to develop and officiate professional and Division 1 soccer thanks to a few bold men who took a chance on me when I was considered a high risk, low-level official.

This past year I crowned a National Champion as a whistle and my first national candidate.

I still love officiating, but as I get older I decided to make development much easier, less judgmental, and more engaging than it was for me.

That's why I created Cheeseburgers in Paradise!

I’m offering 150 soccer officials the chance to be virtually mentored and coached by me personally.

Sanctioned by US Soccer, my unique approach to feeling the game and mastering player & match management allows me to put you in the captain’s seat of your own progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m brand new. Is this too advanced for me?

Not at all. I work with grassroots refs every week. The training starts with fundamentals and builds from there. Wherever you are right now is exactly where you’re supposed to be.

What if I don’t have perfect video of my games?

You don’t need perfect footage — you just need usable footage. Most refs film from a phone on the sideline, and that’s enough for me to coach you. I’ll also show you a simple setup when you join.

What makes this different from clinics and seminars?

Clinics are generic. This is personal. You’re not getting theory — you’re getting direct feedback on your games, your decisions, and your growth areas.

Will you actually review my games?

Yes. Every committed member gets a monthly 15-minute video review from me personally. I don’t outsource this — I coach you myself.

What if I don’t improve?

If you film your games, listen to feedback, and actually apply it — you will improve. I’ve been doing this long enough to know what works. But you have to do the work.

Is this just about rules and mechanics?

No. I coach positioning, game management, confidence, decision-making, and the mental side of officiating — the things that actually separate good refs from great ones.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contracts. No pressure. Month-to-month. If it’s not for you, you can leave — but most refs stay because they see real progress.

How do I submit my game footage?

You’ll upload clips to our private group. It’s simple, and I’ll walk you through it step by step when you join
